Damaris Webb: Bicoastal Performer, Teaching Artist, and Theater Maker

I am available in Portland, Oregon and New York City for original/devised/physical theater productions as well as pre-scripted works.

My formal training includes Psychophysical Acting (Steve Wangh, Kevin Khulke), Viewpoints Practice (Wendell Beavers, Mary Overlie), Roy Hart Vocal Technique (Jonathan Hart, Ethelyn Friend), Contemplative Dance Practice (Barbara Dilley), and Self-Scripting and Play Making (with Leeny Sak, Leigh Fondakowski and Peggy Pettitt).

NYC Performance highlights include Ashira from The Continuing Adventures of Ashira69!, a weekly Cast Member in Zero Boy’s 10-Spot/World War Zero, Witness Relocation’s The Blue Bird, SITI Company Member’s 23 Seconds about John Cage and The Modern Dance Awareness Society’s somaphrase: dancing the translation last summer in Andros, Greece. As Artistic Director of The Tennessee Project, she was responsible for over ten seasons of original and pre-scripted works that explored everything from Shakespeare to comic book superheroes. She holds her MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University, and her BFA from NYU’s Experimental Theater Wing.
