Investigating composition practices beginning with seeing yourself in the space and engaging with props as ‘allies’. (The intention is to awaken the voice and presence of inanimate physical objects as we train our compositional eye to listen to the stories space already holds.)

Finding Foundation Workshop
Using the Four Postures of Mindfulness as a source for dance improvisation and TAMING THE DISCURSIVE BODY with Stillness, Slow Motion and Repetition to make solos on-the-spot. (This workshop focuses on developing techniques and insight for performer awareness of the present moment. The intention is to support a relaxed and whole-being presence in creating improvisational (solo) performance, dance or otherwise. We will be using ourselves as “self-portrait”.)

Yielding to deep play, we evoke our individual kinesthetic delight. This practice is intended to support a wholesome way of being an artist in the world while strengthening our inside compositional eye and is complementary to many styles of performance training.
